Dr. Jacoub is a board certified internist, hematologist and medical oncologist. He manages all forms of blood disorders and cancer but has a particular interest in breast cancer, lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancer including colorectal cancer, melanoma, head and neck cancer, leukemia/lymphoma as well as clotting and bleeding disorders. He is wholeheartedly dedicated to his patients and their families and is intensely passionate about his field. Indeed, he prides himself on the outcomes his patients achieve.
Dr. Jacoub is also the medical director of the MemorialCare Cancer Institute at MemorialCare Orange Coast Medical Center. His singular goal in this leadership position is to help make the Cancer Institute the preferred center for patients and their referring physicians for cancer care in Orange County. In addition he is the medical director of OC Blood & Cancer Care located on the MemorialCare campuses.
Dr. Jacoub did his undergraduate studies at University of California, Irvine followed by completion of his medical education and training in Internal Medicine at the University of Nevada where he was selected to serve as the Chief Medical Resident for an additional academic year. His specialty training was completed at the George Washington University, School of Medicine and Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center, both in Washington, D.C. and the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. He was awarded Resident of the Year as well as Clinical Fellow of the Year at these respective programs. He was inducted to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society. He also previously served as an assistant clinical professor at UCI.
Dr. Jacoub believes clinical research is an integral part of cancer care. He is an investigator on numerous oncology clinical trials. He has also received awards and recognition in clinical research and has been published.
He is originally from New York but has called Southern California home for over 30 years. During his free time he enjoys spending time with his three sons, reading and playing sports.
